Hello everyone,

I am excited to share with you our plan of action for 2024 at our charity project in Malawi, Africa. As we reflect on the past year’s achievements, we are motivated to continue making a positive impact on the lives of the children and teachers in the community.

Here are the key initiatives we will be focusing on this year:

  • Buying Teaching Resources
    • Purchase realms of paper, chart paper, and chalk for the teachers to enhance their teaching resources. To kick things off, we’re looking to equip our amazing teachers with the tools they need to inspire and educate the young minds of Malawi. We’ll be stocking up on teaching resources, including realms of paper, chart paper, and chalk, to create engaging and interactive lessons that will help our students thrive.
  • Building Teacher Housing
    • Construct one new teacher’s house and connect all three teachers’ houses to electricity for a safer and more comfortable living environment. This is our main project in construction this year and marks the first time that we’ve built a teachers house.
  • Water and Sanitation Upgrades
    • Upgrade the water tank from 2000l to 5000l capacity and repurpose the existing 2000l tank for the teachers’ houses.
    • Construct TWO new learner’s toilet block for boys and for girls.
    • Purchase sanitation equipment for the toilets, including toilet paper, chlorine, brushes and buckets.
  • Enhancing Learning Environments
    • Build 40 new learner desks to provide a conducive space for studying.
    • Tailor 40 new learner uniforms for students in need.
    • Install 8 new metal classroom doors for increased security.Education is key, so we’re investing in our students as well.
  • Improving Staff Facilities
    • Purchase two board room tables and 24 chairs for the staff room. With the building of the staff room in the last year, we have finally completed it and got the chance to furnish the room and make it a more comfortable and productive space for the teachers that they never had before.
  • Expanding Learning Resources
    • Purchase an additional 600 learner books to enrich the students’ educational experience. This is to continue our programme to purchase the learners books and make sure their are enough books for the learners to read and work with. In Malawi, this is one of the biggest problems in every school, but we thankfully have been tackling this problem each year for the last 3 years and will continue to do so.
  • Delivery of donations thanks to DHL and Mary & Malachy

    • A major collection of donations for Matandani school at the amazing Marys Tea Party:
400+ school bags ; 400+ reading glasses ; educational supplies including posters, notebooks, pens/pencils and markers ; and lots of amazing medical supplies that will make a big difference to the First Aid cabinet at school and also to the local clinic/ village hospital.

We are dedicated to making these improvements to support the educational and living conditions of the community in Malawi. Thank you for your continued support in making a difference in the lives of these children and teachers.

Best regards,

Andy
